Listening Consultation

If your teams or project groups need to get results or resolve issues, and are making little progress, our third party, consultative approach can break the deadlock.

Are you starting a new department or project group? Do you want to make sure the interpersonal communication lays a strong foundation for business success? Some listening consulting could make a difference.

Listening Consultation involves real-time participation

The listening consultant would sit in on your real-time business meetings. Your group's communication and listening patterns are observed, and fed back to your people. Goals and objectives for changing those patterns would be set.

There is a learning component

A fundamentals session on listening follows. During each business meeting, your people receive "theory bursts". Skills introduction and appropriate learning interventions will also happen. Your people will agree on what skills they will consciously practice throughout the remainder of the business meeting. We continue to provide feedback and recognition at regular intervals.

The duration of the consultation is up to you

The more often your team meets and refines its listening capabilities, the shorter the duration of the consulting process can be. For example, you can meet every 1 or 2 weeks, over a period of 3 to 4 months.

Your people receive homework, feedback and coaching

Listening skills are developed faster through regular practice. Between meetings, homework is customized for interested participants. Individuals requesting feedback and coaching over the phone outside the business meetings are welcomed.

  • The consultative process delivers powerful rewards to your people
  • Training and coaching is injected into your real working environment.
  • Your people enhance their skills and intentions in real situations, with the people they actually work with.
  • Critical skill development is timed to what's actually happening or not happening in your workplace.
  • Effective skill application shows up immediately in real business results and progress and solid relationships.
  • Feedback is in real-time, real-world.
  • Your people learn to give feedback, coach and acknowledge each others' listening skills, all the while building capacity for independent and continuous learning.
